Safeguarding
Safeguarding Statement
Wixams Tree Primary Academy is committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of every pupil. All our staff, governors and volunteers share this commitment.
Pupils are aware that they can talk to any member of staff if they have any concerns. All staff are trained in Safeguarding on an annual basis allowing staff to understand the signs that a child may be at risk of harm. We sometimes need to share information with external agencies about our pupils but where concerns are raised, discussions will take place with parents/carers first, unless we believe that this would be of detriment to the child’s welfare.
Should you have any concerns regarding the safety and welfare of anyone within the Wixams Tree Primary Academy community please contact:
Designated Safeguarding Lead - Mrs Suzanna Neate (Assistant Headteacher)

CEOP Button
The NCA’s CEOP Command is here to help children and young people. We are here to help you if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world.
We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking.
Visit our Safety Centre for advice and to report directly to CEOP, by clicking on the Click CEOP button.

Operation Encompass
Active from February 2022 to supersede the Relay/DANS system
Our Academy is part of Operation Encompass.
This is a police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who experience Domestic Abuse. Operation Encompass means that the police will share information about Domestic Abuse incidents with our Academy PRIOR to the start of the next Academy day when they have been called to a domestic incident.
Our parents are fully aware that we are an Operation Encompass Academy. The Operation Encompass information is stored in line with all other confidential safeguarding and child protection information.
The DSL has also led training for all Academy staff and Governors about Operation Encompass, the prevalence of Domestic Abuse and the impact of this abuse on children. We have also discussed how we can support our children following the Operation Encompass notification. We are aware that we must do nothing that puts the child/ren or the non-abusing adult at risk.
The Safeguarding Governor will report on Operation Encompass in the termly report to Governors. All information is anonymised for these reports. The DSL has used the Operation Encompass Toolkit to ensure that all appropriate actions have been taken by the Academy.
